Hello VALLEY Fans Friends and Family!!

I’m excited to introduce this PledgeIt FUNdraiser as a way to reach your fundraising goals for Valley W Lax.

This campaign is set-up so everyone can raise the funds for her current Participation Fees of $527.

In the past these fees had precluded some from joining and we want to change that. We have been hard at work trying to minimize the costs established by District 204, and trying to find ways to help our athletes, who want to play, join.

THE CAMPAIGN IS SIMPLE! We are asking each player to create a profile to ask for Pledges/donations. You can create a personal fundraising profile using the following link – https://pledgeit.org/valley-lacrosse-2020/fundraise
As you are creating your personal profile, you’ll be asked to enter the names and email addresses of friends and family you want to contact about supporting your page, your participation fees and for team expenses.

Our overall goal will be $20,000, which sounds like a lot, but is quite achievable. If ~40 Athletes reach out to and receive 10 Pledges of $50, we reach our goal. (40×10x$50=$20,000!!!)

OUR PLEDGE TO YOU and THEM: 100% of this money will go directly to benefitting the Athletes!

ALL—AND 100% OF— PLEDGES are credited to a named player first (hence the “profile pages”), offsetting the individual costs of the District’s participation fees.

A neat part of this site is that we formed a “FUNDRAISER LEADERBOARD” so we can track each player’s outreach and showcase how much she has contributed to the team goal. The TOP 3 will “win” an award.

Any surplus of pledges are applied to a general fund for the benefit of all by helping pay for team equipment, rental space, and cold weather gear—which we all know, it’s going to be BRRRR COLD March 18th for the first game of the 2020 season!!

Finally, here are a few tips for fundraising success based on what has worked well with other teams:
—Our PledgeIt team page communicates what the money is going to be used for – 100% to and for the player!
—We picked a 2-week time period for everyone to participate prior to and in time for submitting her Participation Fees to her high school.
—Each player creates a personal touch that speaks directly to their family, friends, etc. Players can use the built-in tools to share quickly and easily the campaign via email to family and friends.
